VISITS TO THE SCHOOL School will be open for visits by parents and prospective pupils on Tuesday 9 December 2025 at 6.30pm.

Respective functions of the Board of Governors and Senior Leadership Team in relation to Admissions to the school.

The approval for all admissions is ultimately the responsibility of the Board of Governors. The Principal, with the approval of the Board of Governors, will select pupils for admission.

In the event of over-subscription applicants who are resident in N. Ireland at the time of their proposed admission to the school will be selected for admission before any child not so resident.

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA FOR YEAR 8 PUPILS

During the admissions procedure when applying the criteria punctual applications will be considered before late applications are considered. The application procedure opens on 27 January 2026 at 12 noon (GMT) and an application submitted by the closing date of 19 February 2026 at 12 noon (GMT) will be treated as a punctual application.  An application received after 12noon (GMT) on 19 February 2026 and up to 24 February 2026 will be treated as a late application.

The Principal, with the approval of the Board of Governors, will select pupils for admission by applying the school’s stated intake criteria of sequential preference given below:

1.Those pupils who are transferring from an Integrated primary school.

2. Those pupils transferring from a primary school in Crumlin, Glenavy, Nutts Corner, Dundrod or Ballinderry.

3. Applicants for whom the school is the nearest suitable school.

4. Applicants who have a sibling currently attending the school;

5. Children will be selected on the basis of initial letter of the surname in the order set out below:

The order was determined by a randomised selection of letters. In the event of surnames beginning with the same initial letter, the subsequent letters of the surnames will be used in alphabetical order. In the event of 2 identical surnames the alphabetical order of the initials of the first forename will be used.

Please Note:

(a)    It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that ALL information relevant to the above criteria is included on pupils’ online Application Forms.

(b)   The above criteria will apply throughout the School Year 2025/2026.

(c )   Priority will be given to punctual applications.

ADMISSIONS TO YEAR 8 AFTER 1 SEPTEMBER 2026

Parents who wish to have their child considered for admission after 1 September 2026 should write to the Principal clearly stating this. The above criteria will be applied to these applications only.

Admissions criteria other than Year 8

The Principal, with the approval of the Board of Governors, will select pupils for admission by applying the school’s stated intake criteria of sequential preference given below

1. Those pupils resident in Northern Ireland at the time of their proposed admission

2. Those pupils who have, or have had, another brother or sister at the school.

3. Those pupils who, at the date of their application, are the eldest child or only child of the family to be eligible to apply for admission to the school.

4. Admission into Key Stage 3 will take priority over admission into Key Stage 4.

5. Children will be selected on the basis of initial letter of the surname in the order set out as Year 8 above.
